Boy with autism meets his officer

What happened

Taylor Pomilla who is a single mom always takes D.C. metro to and fro for school with his son Andrew with autism who is five years old. The officer accompanied the boy Andrew beyond his duty and dropped him to his station when he was kicking, screaming and running around the platform.

What did the officer do

Sometimes Andrew becomes overwhelming all of a sudden and this happened during his transit in the metro. He wasn't listening to his mother and doing things which scared her mother but she knew he wasn't doing that on purpose.

The DC officer Dominic who was near the platform noticed the boy, made him calm, comfortable and safe as he knew how to treat boys with autism by the social training he had received. The officer was with Andrew holding his hands along the journey and accompanied the boy on many station till Andrew arrived at his station. He gave Andrew the badge from his vest after the ride.

What happened after that

Mrs. Pomilla was so touched by the kindness of the officer that she posted his picture along with the boy on facebook where it went viral. She was so touched by the officer that she also requested for the raise in his salary along with her post and requested for the name of the officer.
This kind act of kindness has touched many hearts and they are very proud of the officer. After a few days young Andrew met his travel buddy officer Dominic and was very happy seeing him again. They have now became friends and enjoy each others company when they are together.
