Kindness takes a seat on Buddy Bench at Bell Elementary

There’s a new seat on the playground, but it’s not for resting, it’s for friendship.

Last month, Bell Elementary installed a Buddy Bench to ensure everyone has someone to be with during recess.
A Buddy Bench is a seat students sit on during recess if they are feeling lonely or shy. Other students who see them sitting on the bench are encouraged to invite them to play.
Principal Mary Derby said she is proud to have the new addition on the playground.
“I love it,” Derby said. “One of our main goals is to instill kindness in our students and give them opportunities to express kindness.”
The new blue bench outside the school reads “Buddy Bench” and was a collaborative effort between the Parent Teacher Organization and the Offutt Officers’ Spouses’ Club.
The project, which cost about $1,000, was a good investment, said Miranda Diaz, PTO board member and communications representative.
“We are very proud,” Diaz said.
Diaz said she hopes the bench can bring students together as well as inspire them to be kind to one and other.
“They can go home to their parents and tell them that they did something good today and made a new friend,” she said.
As president of the Offutt Officers’ Spouses’ Club, Angela Schermer said the club was happy to invest in such a meaningful addition.
“It’s such a great thing,” she said.
“It’s cool that students know to be looking for kids who are sitting on the Buddy Bench.”
Teachers talked to their classes about the bench to make students aware of the importance of inclusion, Derby said.
So far, she said, it’s been effective.
“I’ve seen lots of kids using it appropriately,” Derby said.
The bench, Derby said, also helps new students make new friends.
“It’s good for new students, especially if they are feeling like they don’t really know anybody and aren’t sure who to play with,” she said.
From new students to those who are looking for a friend, the Buddy Bench is a way to let students know they are not alone.
“I hope it brings more kindness,” Derby said. “It’s one of our core values and beliefs so this is one opportunity students have to do something nice for someone else.”

Maine mother touched by officer's act of kindness

A Pittsfield mother says a small act of kindness from a Maine State Police trooper brought her to tears on Monday.

Gwenivere Rollins stopped by a Dunkin’ to get a coffee around 7:40 a.m. with her young daughter, Farris. There was a trooper ahead of her in line at the drive-thru.
Rollins says they were on their way to their second of three doctor's appointments in the last week because Farris has been suffering from croup, an ear infection, and a full-body viral rash.
When she got to the window to pay, a Dunkin employee told her the trooper paid her $4 bill.

“Your $4 act of kindness meant the entire world to me. I cried all the way to Waterville,” Rollins said in a Facebook post that’s going viral. "We’ve had a hard few days and that small act of kindness meant the world to me. Thank you for the coffee, thank you for your service to your community and thank you for keeping us safe. Also, Farris says thank you for the donut."
Rollins says her Facebook post reached the officer, but they would like to remain anonymous.

Teacher's Act Of Kindness For Girl With Spina Bifida Goes Viral

The Kentucky school planned a field trip for the nearby Falls of Ohio, a fossil bed on the Ohio River that requires hiking along rugged terrain.
There's a museum Ryan and her mom could've visited instead, but that would mean missing out on what the other kids got to do.

Ryan was determined to go on the hike, so her mum decided she would try and carry Ryan in a special backpack. King was prepared to chaperone the trip and carry her daughter the whole way, but someone reached out with a suggestion.
A teacher named Jim Freeman — who is not even Ryan's teacher — offered to do the carrying. "He was like 'Hey, I'll carry her, no big deal,'" King said.
This meant the world to Ryan, who King says "is your average 10-year-old who wants to be independent from her mother and be with her friends and be cool."
Freeman said he was happy to take on that physical challenge. He carried the fourth-grader around in 32-degree weather for about an hour, King said.
"That's 50 pounds (22.6kg) dead weight, she can't wrap her leg's around" King told CBS News. "Usually I'm used to doing these things for her because I'm a mom and that's what moms do." But this time, Freeman's help was much appreciated.

College senior prays for deputy's protection

We are safe in the city and did not have to worry about crimes and robbery in our neighborhood due to the hardworking police officer. They are the one who make the community a crime free place and protect us from bad people so that we can return home to be with our loved ones.

Just as every other human being a police officer has a beautiful family in which the family members pray for their long life and care for them. A Volusia county Sgt. Cameron tucker is also one of them. He went to the Zaxby's restaurant in Deland on saturday night with the family.
In the same restaurant Juan O'neal , a 21 year old senior at Stetson university was there at the Cash counter. He asked Sgt. tucker questions about his son and talking about raising kids and things like that.
He wanted to know more about the officer as O'Neal father is also an police officer so he felt a sudden connection with him. He also wanted to show an appreciation for his service and made up his mind what he going to do.
After the officer sat down with his family for dinner. O'Neal approached their table asking to pray for the deputy's protection.
"I immediately, without hesitation was like, 'Sure.' I would not turn that down. We could use all the prayer and help that we can get," Tucker said.

This moment was captured by tucker's wife Justine Tucker and posted on social media where it went viral reaching around 44,000 people with more than 22,000 shares to that post.
The two also learned they share the same faith and have mutual friends through Stetson Baptist Church. They also believe that the simple gesture of prayer and love can go a long way.
"I couldn't be more thankful that he stopped by that day and gave me a recharge with not only the public but with my faith as well," Tucker said.
We all could not do this to every police officer but we can surely pray for their safety, admire their sacrifice for the community. They are really the toughest guy we can see in every neighborhood and they make the environment a safe place for us the people to live around.

Why did Principal had lunch with a second grade student in recess

School friends are the friends for lifetime as they know us inside out. We always dream to live our school life when we get old and we have lots of our memories from school so that we can share with others.

Lucy Taylor a second grade student did not had any company with her when she was having lunch in the recess. The reason for this was she was having Cerebral Palsy. The main symptoms in these are poor coordination, stiff muscles, weak muscles, and tremors. There are also problems with sensation, vision, hearing, swallowing, and speaking for a person who has cerebral palsy.
The children from second grade only want to play and have fun all the time. Lucy could not play due to her condition so other children did not used to spend time with her they where with the children who could play with them and enjoy doing that.
As every mother would fell that other children should play with their kids Lucy's mother also felt the same way. She also wanted her child to enjoy the school life, have lunch with other children. So Daun Elizabeth Taylor made a facebook post about the struggles of her daughter and just wanted to share her story with others. It was not that she was complaining about other children but wanted to have a little change in her daughter's life.
Her post was spotted by the principal of the elementary school Jeremy Thompson. He knew exactly what he was going to do the next day and was waiting for the next day recess. The next day as the recess bell rang he went out to Lucy and started to have lunch with her. Lucy was on the top of the sky with happiness as she could not believe that principal was having lunch with her. As since a very long time she had a company with her when she was having a lunch.
Principal not only had dinner with her but also played with her after the lunch. He also wanted to assure that Lucy should will not have lunch alone he made a group of youngsters and named the group as "Bubble Club".

Now Lucy has many playground friends . Lucy's mother Daun is so happy for her daughter that she praised the principal in the facebook post and want to tell us that the confidence level of Lucy is up to a new level and she is feeling more happy than before to go to school.
All the credits goes to the principal and the Bubble club members. Furthermore, since their story caught the attention of local reporter, Lucy and Thompson have become social media role models for other school staffers and lonely youngsters.
“A number of parents have reached out to us whose children are also struggling and Lucy has started sending out T-shirts and bubbles and hand-written notes to kiddos who would benefit from being part of the Bubble Squad. She has taken her struggle and tried to use it to help others,” she continued.

Everyone remembers the memory when they where on the plane for the first time. Some people travel alone while some people are with someone when the take their first flight. Ashley Ober an 16 year old took the delta Airlines flight all by her alone. The only thing with her was that she was deaf and she could not understand a word what the flight attendant Janna said. Just like us everyone she also wanted to know what Janna was saying.
What Janna did was that she gave Ashley an letter to read. In the handwritten letter she had written each and every word she has said during her speech as a flight attendant crew member to her fellow passengers.
Ashley and her mom Loretta

Loretta Ober, the mother of Ashley was so touched by this act of kindness that she posted the letter on social media. To her social media account she received a lot of positive response to her post in order to appreciate the kind gesture of Janna an flight attendant of delta airlines.
If there would be more people like Janna in the world the world we will would be more like a place in heaven

He wanted to have money for his beer so King, 24, waved a sign that read "Busch Light Supply Needs Replenished," under which he'd scrawled his Venmo handle in black Sharpie, on Sept. 14 during ESPN's "College. It would be a joke he believed and did not knew that people will take it to seriously.

A wrong text leads to multiple people volunteering for help.

Good people are always proactive in helping others. They never miss an opportunity, which is in their scope to help others. If you want to see how this good people look just have a look around you, you will be able to find many people who are volunteering to help others in the community.

Let me tell you a real story of a person who just could not resist to help the other person when he was contacted by a mistake. It was an usual day for Bill when he received an unknown text message from an unknown person and decided to make a little fun with her but later ended up in helping the person who was in need.
Abby Fink wanted to text her brother Jakeman and tell him her plans about tomorrow's dinner. She typed the message "Hey Brother Jakeman, this is Sister Fink, we are bringing you dinner tomorrow, I was wondering what time would be a good time to bring it over," and sent it to the number.
But Jakeman didn't receive the message as she had mistyped the number and message was delivered to Bill. In order to make little fun "Oooh! What are you bringing me?" Bill replied, knowing that the message was not meant for him.
Abby knew she has typed to the wrong person and she explained that the text was meant for a family friend whose 4-year-old son, Noah, was fighting to stay alive. By understanding the boy's health condition bill just could not sit and do nothing for the child. He Knew he was not only the one who can help so he rallied friends on Facebook to send gifts and cards to Noah. He even contacted a local charity who now wants to lend a hand too.

More and more help is pouring now to help Noah and now he is out of ICU but remains at Phoenix Children's Hospital as a lengthy recovery begins.
As for Bill, he plans to drop off a gift and meet the young boy in person next week.
"I told Bill, 'I don't know if you believe in God or not, but I believe you were sent here to help this family.' I told him he was an angel," said Fink

Partner with kindness has a long lasting relationship

Life partner

According to the new research carried out by Swansea University the top quality for a long term partner is Kindness.
You always want to find the right partner as your life partner to spend the rest of your life with him. Some people may have succeeded in it and some people just could not take their relationship to the next level. So you should take this aspect into consideration while thinking about your life partner.

What was the research about

In the Journal of personality where this research was published 2700 college students from all across the globe took part in the research. The students were given fixed characteristics to choose from a life partner and were given a fixed budget.
Students were given eight options like physical attractiveness, good financial prospects, kindness, humour, chastity, religiosity, the desire for children, and creativity.
The one that was given highest priority was Kindness and People typically spent 22-26% of their total budget on kindness.

Kindness

Even though physical attractiveness and financial prospects are important in life people choose kindness as the main quality in their partner. This shows us no matter from where we re, what are our cultural beliefs, what is our religion everybody wants to have a kind partner with them for lifetime.
Let us end with few lines of a poem by W. Lomax Childress
Let us be kind; This is a wealth that has no measure, This is of Heaven and earth the highest treasure— Let us be kind.

Blair's family act of kindness

What happened

Blair's family wanted to remember their son Jerele who took his life in 2018 and for this they hosted an act of kindness by paying for the couple's dinner at Danview restaurant in Danville Virginia and asked them to pay further to the community. This event led to many for others paying the others meal on behalf of Jerele

Why did the family did this

It was heartbreaking for Katrina Gregory and her husband when their son committed suicide. They did not want anyone to go through this so they started an event where one can pay the meal of others in order to remember Jerely. By doing this they wanted to help the community as well as create an awareness regarding the suicide of teenagers.

What happened after the event

A lot of community people took part in this event and very large number of people became a part of it. The Blair's family now want to make this event even more bigger by crowd funding in the next year and help the community in more ways that they possibly can.
